Artist's Biography

Wendy St. has always been surrounded by artistic creativity. Some of her earliest memories are of discussions about the importance of color and form. This is reflected in the palette and subjects which she chooses for her paintings.

Wendy has had the great fortune to have studied in Paris, at the Ecole du Louvre, with Maurice Sérullaz. Professor Sérullaz is internationally renowned for his writings on the French Impressionists and as the leading authority on Eugène Delacroix. The formation gained from these studies is clearly shown in Wendy's art

Wendy is a member of the Manhasset Art Association in New York, a group of painters and sculptors founded in 1948. In 2006, she was chosen by the Town of Oyster Bay, NY, to be one of a select group of artists for their Rotational Art Exhibit

She has had both solo and group exhibitions in New York, before moving to San Francisco late in 2006.

Artist's Statement

I believe that one of the best things that an artist can be advised to do is: Paint, paint, paint! Along with this, should be added, "Give the paint a chance. Give the brush a chance." (John Marin). An artist can go far by following this.
